How we make it
Four principles, no shortcuts
Seasoned timber
Boards are slow-cured in solar kilns until they suit Indian homes, so joints stay tight and tops stay flat.
Carved by hand
Relief carving and jaali work by Saharanpur artisans, with dozens of chisels shaped for specific cuts.
Traditional joinery
Mortise and tenon, dovetails and pegged joints: wood locking into wood instead of metal brackets.
Hand-rubbed finishes
Plant oils, beeswax and low-VOC lacquers, applied and buffed by hand in thin coats.

Frames are built from seasoned solid timber, most often teak. Where a design also uses plywood panels, fabric or metal, the product page lists it, so you always know what you are buying.
